Doug Unger, CSR, a recent graduate from the Court Reporting Program at South Coast College in Orange has just that kind of job.  Doug was recently hired by VITAC, one of the leading captioning companies in the country, to caption television programs for the hearing -impaired.  Doug was an outstanding student who had one of the lowest error rates on the Certified Shorthand Reporter (CSR) Examination.  Doug has worked using his steno machine doing depositions and hearings.  However, he decided to pursue captioning as a career.  Doug trained for a few weeks at the captioning firm and now works exclusively from home.  Doug is one of the South Coast College Notable Alumni on linkedin.com.
